Technis runs on three Docker hosts. Two live at home and one runs off-site. Every service is declared as a Compose model in the public technis repository, assembled per host under docker/stacks/<host>.

Each host also runs the shared baseline: Traefik, Technitium DNS, Tailscale, ExternalDNS, a Docker socket proxy, and telemetry agents.

Technology Stack

Runtime

Docker Compose on Debian and TrueNAS SCALE. One reusable model per service, included by each host’s stack.

Storage

ZFS on TrueNAS: an SSD mirror for app data and a RAIDZ2 pool for media. See Storage.

Networking

Traefik for routing, Technitium for DNS, Tailscale between sites, and Cloudflare Tunnels for public entry.

Identity

Authelia provides sign-in and 2FA in front of member services.

Monitoring

Gatus for health checks and the status page. Alloy and Vector ship metrics and logs to VictoriaMetrics and VictoriaLogs, viewed in Grafana.

Source of Truth

Service definitions live in Git. Renovate proposes image updates.

Previous Architecture

Technis previously ran a three-node Proxmox VE cluster on Minisforum MS-01 hosts with Ceph storage and Kubernetes on top. That design is archived under archive/ in the repository and is no longer active.
